Legible

Legible spaces help people living with dementia navigate their neighbourhoods by using obvious design cues to clearly communicate the function or purpose of a space, feature, path, or building.

  • Clear directions include text with arrows, walking distances, and a map to help people find where to go.

  • Wayfinding signage shows a public walking route, branded with a recognizable yellow colour, helping people to safely find and connect to key destinations (such as the mall, city hall, and art gallery).

  • Clear and connected street grids allow pedestrians to navigate the environment with ease.
